Why is the SEMIT department the №1 leader in the IT education of Ukraine?
The entire learning process is held in English, including the disciplines of the humanities cycle and fundamental vocational training.
The learning process in Master's degree program is organized in such a way that the students of the department attend only the first double-period and study on Saturdays. The rest of the time is devoted to full-time work in an IT-company.
The project approach is an alternative to traditional education and provides independent execution of individual projects by students. It is carried out within the framework of the Innovation Campus.
Specialties and curricula
A bachelor's degree is a 4-year educational curriculum aimed at training information technologies and software development
The educational curriculum 121 "Software Engineering" involves the training of specialists in the software design, development and testing.
The educational curriculum 122 "Computer Science and intelligent Systems" includes preparation of specialists in the development of information technologies for managing complex systems and processes of different profiles based on artificial intelligence.
The educational curriculum 126 "Information Systems Software" trains specialists for work with information systems and technologies including blockchain disciplines and distributed systems.

Full stack web developer
The goal of the educational curriculum is to train specialists in the design, development and research of intellectual software systems for various subject areas.
The educational curriculum (specialty 122 "Computer Science") provides 2 specializations.
- Software Engineering Project Management.
- Business-Analysis of Intellectual Systems in Software Engineering.
It provides training of specialists in the development and maintenance of information systems and technologies for businesses and organizations of different profiles.
Joint training programme Double-degree master diploma on Software Engineering with Alpen-Adria-Universität, Klagenfurt, Austria.
Double degree programs are being prepared with university in France.
Possibility of internship in IT companies in the USA!
The main goal of the project “Establishing Modern Master-level Studies in Information Systems”(MASTIS) is to improve education in the specialty “Information Systems” according to the requirements of modern society. The result of the department participation in the MASTIS project was the introduction of bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the specialty 126 "Information Systems and Technologies".
There are available mobility programs with universities in Germany, France, Sweden, Austria, Lithuania, Poland.
The department was founded in 1964 and consistently passed through the following stages of development:
1964 – 1973
Software development for onboard computers of ballistic missiles.
1974 – 1995
Software development for automated management systems of businesses.
1996 – 2021
Software development for IT companies.
